Hello everyone!! I am gonna ramble a minute on lots of topics that are floating around in my head this morning…. As most of you all know I was not directly affected by this flood but my heart goes out to the many that have been.. There is very little positive in this negative. But the Lunchbox has been a positive to this situation. Crystal and I ran the Town & Country papers and our office was on main st Clendenin. We lost everything. She had a choice to rebuild the paper or branch out and help the community. Crystal and I agreed the Lunchbox would be the better way to serve the community. Not only by giving them a place to eat but by giving a boost to the ever so fragile economy in the area. So many places are not reopening and being torn down that we decided the town needed us as an eatery not a paper. We work countless hours to make sure the town has a place to eat with quality food and service. We may come home hurting, complaining, sore, greasy and plain out tired… However at the end of the day we rest easy knowing we have helped the town of Clendenin and give a ray of hope to this fragile town. Crystal summed it up best when she was on Channel 13 news.. The goal is to serve the people of the community , fill thier bellies and give them a reason to smile……
We will be serving breakfast very soon… possiblly this week. I will be opening the Lunchbox at 7 am with freshly made biscuits and gravy, your choice of sausage, egg, cheese, bacon on a biscuit and coffee and danishes… We are very proud to be able to serve this wonderful and yet fragile community….
